Designed by Jean Prouvé in 1951, the Fauteuil Direction Pivotant reflects the French designer's distinctive approach to furniture—where engineering, material honesty and everyday function are brought together with remarkable clarity. Originally conceived as a refined office chair, its generous proportions and considered ergonomics make it equally at home in a contemporary workspace, study or home office.

The chair features a height-adjustable swivel seat and an adjustable reclining mechanism that can be calibrated to the individual user's weight, allowing the backrest to respond naturally to movement.
